Bayron Xitamul Dead, Cesar Cerrato-Oliva Arrested after Houston Car Accident

 
HOUSTON, TX (April 17, 2024) — A man identified as 30-year-old Bayron Xitamul died in a car accident on Saturday, April 6.
 
According to the Houston Police Department, surveillance footage from Saturday morning captured the fatal incident in the 8100 block of Sands Point near Sharpstown. It showed a dark gray Ford F-150 struck Ximatual and reverse. After that, it struck him a second time before it drove off.
 
Police said they discovered that Xitamul’s truck was stolen. They later found it at a traffic stop at around 3:00 p.m. later that day.
 
Authorities said they found three people in the truck. Houston police released two others after questioning.
 
Meanwhile, they arrested the driver, Cesar Cerrato-Oliva. They found out that he used Xitamul’s stolen vehicle to hit the victim twice. They charged him with unauthorized use of a vehicle. Furthermore, he will face additional charges, officers said.
 
Xitamul’s brother, who requested to remain anonymous, said he found his brother’s lifeless body in the parking lot as he was on his way to work. In addition, he said he did not recognize the name of the suspect.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
