Barrett Hawkins Killed in Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 11, 2024) — A 29-year-old man identified as Barrett Hawkins died in a pedestrian accident on Wednesday, September 4.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. at Centennial Hills Hospital on 6900 North Durango Drive.
LVMPD said Hawkins was lying near an ambulance bay at the hospital. Then an oncoming 2023 Las Vegas Fire Department ambulance struck him.
Emergency medical and Centennial Hills Hospital personnel brought the victim into the hospital for treatment. However, the man succumbed to his injuries, and they pronounced him dead.
The ambulance crew, including its driver, remained at the scene of the accident. They also did not show any signs of impairment.
The incident is the 102nd traffic-related death in LVMPD jurisdiction this year.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
