Barbara Allen Killed, Raymond DeSantos Arrested after Rear-End Crash on 80 Freeway at FM 968 [Marshall, TX]

Barbara Allen Identified in Fatal Rear-End Crash on 80 Freeway in Marshall

 
MARSHALL, TX (October 26, 2022) – Police identified 65-year-old Barbara Allen of Hughes Springs as the victim who died in a rear-end crash on 80 Freeway on October 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about a half mile west of FM 968 around 8:15 PM.
 
Based on a report, Allen was traveling in a Can-Am Ryker west on the highway prior to the crash. At the same time, 22-year-old Raymond DeSantos of Hallsville was on the same direction driving an SUV.
 
Subsequently, the SUV passed another vehicle in a non-passing zone and came back into its original lane. At that point, it struck the rear of Allen’s Can-Am Ryker.
 
As a result, Allen died in the incident.
 
Police charged DeSantos with criminal negligent homicide and booked into the Harrison County Jail.
 
As of now, the fatal crash remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
