Austin Brazda Dies in Fatal Bicycle Accident in El Paso, Hit-and-Run Driver Elliot Alcantar Arrested

 
EL PASO, TX (December 21, 2022) – The El Paso Police Department identified 26-year-old Austin Brazda as the victim who died in a bicycle accident in the 1300 block of George Dieter Drive on December 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around midnight. Based on a report, Brazda was riding his bicycle in the right southbound lane prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, a vehicle hit him and fled the scene. A second, third, and fourth vehicle managed to avoid hitting Brazda after he fell down in the roadway.
 
As a result, Brazda died at a hospital after sustaining severe injuries.
 
Later on, officers identified and arrested the driver of the first vehicle, 33-year-old Elliot Alcantar. They charged him with tampering with evidence and causing an accident involving a death.
 
As of now, the crash remains under investigation.
