Antonio Rodriguez Arrested after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 27, 2023) — Officials arrested 33-year-old Antonio Rodriguez after a hit-and-run at 12:46 a.m. on Friday, July 21.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened took place near Flamingo Road and University Center Drive.
The release said Rodriguez drove a Nissan Versa eastbound on Flamingo Road before crossing the intersection of University Center Drive in the left lane. At the same time, a 38-year-old man crossed Flamingo Road outside of a marked sidewalk.
The Nissan then struck the pedestrian. After that, the driver did not stop and continued to drive east without calling the authorities.
Paramedics transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Trauma. He remains in critical condition there.
A short time later, officers found the Nissan and its driver and passenger. Rodriguez who drove the Nissan, showed signs of impairment. Authorities then conducted a DUI investigation. They placed him under arrest.
According to Clark County Detention Center records, Rodriguez faces several charges and officials held him on a $1,000 bail.
