Antonio Garcia and John Brightman Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 87 [Big Spring, TX]

John Brightman, Antonio Garcia Identified in Fatal Rollover Accident in Big Spring

 
BIG SPRING, TX (June 8, 2023) – Officials identified 56-year-old Antonio Garcia of Midland and 63-year-old John Lyndon Brightman of Odessa who died in a semi-truck accident on Highway 87 on May 29.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened while the victims were traveling in a 2002 Kenworth truck southbound on the highway.
 
Due to unknown reasons, they suffered a tire blowout, which caused the truck to veer off the road onto the entrance ramp. Subsequently, their vehicle rolled over, ejecting them onto the roadway. Both were not wearing seatbelts during that time.
 
As a result, both Garcia and Brightman sustained grave injuries. Crews transported them to Scenic Mountain Medical Center and Midland Memorial Hospital, where they died.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
