Pursuit by Homeland Security Leads to Arrest of Anton Jackson Jr., Hospitalization of Pedestrian
OAKLAND, CA (May 10, 2023) – Officers arrested 22-year-old Anton Jackson Jr. after a pursuit ended in an accident on 23rd Avenue on May 4.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 880 Freeway. Based on a report, a U.S. Department of Homeland Security officer was in pursuit of Jackson after he failed to stop at a red light.
While the pursuit was ongoing, Jackson hit a Nissan Altima and a 32-year-old Oakland resident. Subsequently, he ran from the area.
As a result, the pedestrian suffered critical injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took the victim to Highland Hospital for treatment.
Officers arrested and took Jackson to Santa Rita Jail.
