Drivers Carlos Morante and Angelina Martinez Killed After Head-On Crash in San Antonio

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 11, 2022) – Two drivers died in a wrong-way, head-on car crash on Wurzbach Parkway on Sunday.

Police identified the victims as 21-year-old Angelina Martinez and 22-year-old Carlos Mauricio Morante.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, they arrived to the 12500 block of Wurzbach Parkway at 3:20 a.m. and located a blue Mitsubishi Lancer and yellow Chevrolet Camaro.

The Lancer drove eastbound in the westbound lane when it crashed into the oncoming Camaro, SAPD reported.

It is not clear which car Martinez and Morante were driving, but both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Martinez was a student-athlete of Our Lady of the Lake University. The school held a prayer vigil on campus in honor of the volleyball player, who was in her senior year.

A front-seat passenger in the Camaro sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

An investigation is ongoing.
