LAKEWOOD, WA (February 28, 2024) — A 52-year-old woman identified as Angelica Roberto Campos, of Puyallup, died in a DUI accident on Sunday, February 18.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident on 5 Freeway near Joint Base Lewis-McChord at about 3:50 a.m.
 
WSP said an Arlington man drove south in the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway. Then he reportedly crashed his Acura into a Nissan Titan pickup.
 
Paramedics rushed the Titan driver with sustained injuries to St. Joseph Medical Center. They also transported Campos to Madigan Army Medical Center, where she later died.
 
Medics also brought the Acura driver to Madigan Army Medical Center. However, a hospital spokesperson said they transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He now faces DUI and vehicular homicide charges.
