PHOENIX, AZ (January 24, 2023) – Phoenix police identified 58-year-old Andrew Joaquin Salazar as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on 28th Street on January 19.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Broadway Road around 6:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, Salazar was crossing Broadway at the time of the crash. He was in the middle of the block when a westbound vehicle hit him.
 
Subsequently, the vehicle fled the scene.
 
As a result, emergency medical personnel pronounced Salazar dead at the scene.
 
The Phoenix Police Department is working to identify and locate the suspect vehicle. Currently, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
