Andres Casarez Dead in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 3, 2025) — A 52-year-old man identified as Andres Casarez died in a pedestrian accident on Friday, February 21.
 
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:21 p.m. on the southbound lanes of the 37 Freeway near Highway 281.
 
Investigators said Casarez parked his vehicle on the shoulder of the freeway. After that, he exited his vehicle. Then a passing motorist struck him when he walked back toward it.
 
Officers arrived and found Casarez with serious injuries. Then, paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he later died.
 
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Casarez died from blunt force injuries. They ruled his death as accidental.
 
Meanwhile, police said the driver who hit Casarez stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. Authorities also confirmed that no charges have been filed against the driver.
 
The San Antonio Police Department continues to investigate the case.
