Anamarie Leach Dies after Phoenix Rollover Accident

 
PHOENIX, AZ (August 29, 2024) — A 15-year-old girl identified as Anamarie Leach died in a rollover accident on Saturday, August 17.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the crash occurred at around 4:15 a.m. near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.
 
Phoenix Police said their investigation determined the car the teens were in traveled east on Encanto Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Then Leach lost control causing the vehicle to go off the road. After that, the vehicle slammed into a fence and then a tree.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the two teens trapped inside the vehicle. Officers and firefighters extricated both of them. Then paramedics rushed both to a nearby hospital.
 
Police said Leach, who was behind the wheel of the vehicle, died at the hospital.
 
The male passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries. His identity was not immediately available.
 
Police continue to investigate the crash.
