Amos Stampley Killed, Woman Hospitalized in Milton Car Accident

 
MILTON, WA (July 5, 2023) — A Milton man identified as 40-year-old Amos Stampley died in a car accident on Thursday, June 15.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident took place at Porter Way and Pacific Highway at around 10:40 p.m.
 
Troopers said Stampley drove west on Porter Way in a 1990 Toyota Camry. After that, he crossed the highway intersection and crashed into a car traveling south.
 
According to troopers, the Toyota came to a stop on the right shoulder of Porter Way, just west of Pacific Highway. The other vehicle, a 2015 Nissan Sentra, was left in the intersection.
 
Paramedics pronounced Stampley dead at the scene. Troopers said he did not wear a seat belt.
 
The 74-year-old Tacoma woman who drove the Nissan sustained injuries. Paramedics transported her to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.
 
Troopers said the cause of the crash was the failure to obey a traffic signal. They have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors.
 
The incident temporarily blocked the roadway blocked for around four hours.
