Alfred Velma, Celsey Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 287 in Anderson County
ANDERSON COUNTY, TX (December 29, 2023) – Officials identified 62-year-old Alfred Velma of Seagoville and 32-year-old Celsey Lively of Elkhart who died in a crash on Highway 287 on December 20.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just north of Elkhart around 7:52 AM. Based on a report, Velma was driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma towing a trailer south on the highway during the crash.
When he approached a curve, the trailer began to sway and caused him to lose control of the truck. He then went across into the northbound lane, striking Lively’s 2018 Nissan Armada that was traveling north.
As a result, both Velma and Lively suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
