Alexander Romero, Jose Cruz, and Christopher Granados Killed in Stolen Vehicle Accident in Spring
SPRING, TX (January 14, 2025) — Three teens, Alexander Romero, Jose Cruz, and Christopher Granados, died in a crash on January 2.
The accident happened on Sorrel Ridge and Rolling Terrace Drive near Cypresswood Drive on Thursday night.
Authorities said six teenagers were in a stolen vehicle when officers tried to pull them over near Rolling Creek Drive and Kuykendahl Road. The driver did not stop. Then a 45-second police chase occurred and ended when the vehicle crashed into a tree at Sorrel Ridge and Rolling Terrace Drive.
Investigators reported that the impact of the incident ejected two from the vehicle who died at the scene. Medical personnel pronounced the third teen dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the remaining three passengers sustained injuries. Paramedics transported them to the hospital in serious condition.
Officials later confirmed the deceased teens were Klein ISD students. Sixteen-year-old Alexander Romero and 14-year-old Jose Cruz went to Klein Collins High School. Fourteen-year-old Christopher Granados attended Klein Oak High School.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that the involved teens possess items often associated with smash-and-grab thefts. Some of them were face coverings, hammers, and gloves.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
