Alexa Krynicki Injured in Crash with Hit-and-Run Driver Xavier Borunda on University Avenue in Lubbock

 
LUBBOCK, TX (February 10, 2025) – The Lubbock Police Department identified 22-year-old Alexa Krynicki who suffered injuries in a crash in the 1500 block of University Avenue on January 22.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 6:51 PM. Based on a report, Krynicki was driving a passenger car on the road before the crash.
 
At the same time, 22-year-old Xavier Borunda was also driving a passenger car on the same road. LPD said Borunda make an unsafe lane change. The officer pulled him over but Borunda fled the scene.
 
At that point, Borunda drove over the median and hit Krynicki’s car. He then traveled south through a hotel parking lot before striking a fence. He fled on foot with his 16-year-old passenger.
 
As a result, Krynicki suffered moderate injuries.
 
Borunda sustained minor injuries while his teen passenger had moderate injuries.
 
Police arrested and booked Borunda into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
