Alexa Bartell Killed By Rock Thrown at Her Vehicle in Series of Jefferson County Crimes

 
JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO (April 27, 2023) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office identified 20-year-old Alexa Bartell of Arvada as the victim who died after a rock was thrown at her vehicle in the 10600 block of Indiana Street on April 14.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened near Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge around 10:45 PM. Based on a report, Bartell was driving northbound on Indiana Street when she was hit by a rock thrown from a vehicle or the side of the road.
 
Bartell was on the phone with a friend and the line went silent. Bartell’s friend tracked down her phone, drove to the location, and found her dead inside her car off the roadway in a field.
 
Officers believed the victim’s death to be part of a larger overnight crime spree.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
