Alex Bustamante Fatally Injured in El Paso Motorcycle Accident

 
EL PASO, TX (October 8, 2024) — 39-year-old Alex Cole Bustamante, of Santa Teresa, died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, September 22.
 
According to the El Paso Police, the accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on 4400 Gateway Boulevard East.
 
The initial investigation determined that a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 46-year-old Dominic Maldonado on Gateway East. At the same time, Bustamante rode a 2013 Harley Davidson at a high rate of speed in the same lane behind Maldonado.
 
After that, Maldonado merged right into the next lane to prevent the motorcycle from hitting his vehicle. However, the bike still struck the rear left corner of his vehicle.
 
The impact of the collision ejected Bustamante from his bike.
 
Emergency responders transported Bustamante to the hospital where he died.
 
Police officials believe speed on behalf of Bustamante was a contributing factor in the accident.
 
The accident is the 46th traffic-related death in 2024 as compared to 55 at this time last year.
