Ajuamungu Chubaka Killed in Laveen Village Bicycle Accident

 
LAVEEN VILLAGE, AZ (January 10, 2025) — A 25-year-old man identified as Ajuamungu Chubaka died in a bicycle accident on Wednesday, January 1.
 
According to the Phoenix Police, the incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. near 53rd Avenue and Baseline Road.
 
Phoenix police said Chubaka, who was riding a bicycle, tried to cross Baseline Road mid-block when a vehicle hit him.
 
When officers arrived, they found Chubaka with serious injuries. Then paramedics brought him to a nearby hospital. He did not survive his injuries, and medical officers pronounced him dead.
 
The driver remained at the scene. Officials do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal incident.
