Mary Nunez-Ramirez Identified in Fatal Tucson Car Crash
TUCSON, AZ (March 23, 2023) – Tucson Police identified 94-year-old Mary Nunez-Ramirez as the victim who died in a crash on St. Mary’s Road on March 3.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Grande Avenue around 6:45 PM. Based on a report, Nunez-Ramirez was a passenger in a black 2013 Hyundai Sonata heading west on the St. Mary’s Road prior to the crash.
At the same time, a blue 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was heading east. As the Chevy attempted to turn north on Grande Avenue, it collided with the Sonata.
As a result, Nunez-Ramirez suffered grave injuries in the incident. Crews transported her to the hospital, where she later died.
The male driver of the Sonata also had life-threatening injuries.
As of now, an investigation into what led up to the crash is ongoing. No other information is known at this time.
