Jesus Carrazco Dies after Fiery Crash on 10 Freeway at Redd Road

 
EL PASO, TX (September 12, 2024) — A 93-year-old Chihuahua resident, Jesus Roman Villezcas Carrazco, died in an accident on Friday, August 30.
 
According to the El Paso Police Department, the accident took place on 10 Freeway East at Redd Road just before 1:00 a.m.
 
EPPD said that initial findings from its Special Traffic Investigations unit determined Carrazco was in a 2011 Toyota Sienna driven by 38-year-old Obed Villezcas Longoria. Aside from Carrazco, the Toyota carried two other passengers, a 65-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman. All were residents of Chihuahua, Mexico.
 
The Toyota traveled eastbound on the 10 Freeway. Then a red 2016 Mercedes C300 driven by 36-year-old Alberto Gonzalez, of El Paso, rear-ended the Toyota.
 
Both vehicles reportedly collided with concrete barriers and then caught fire.
 
EPPD said that Carrazco was unable to get out of the vehicle and died at the scene.
 
Gonzales, Longoria and the two passengers of the Toyota suffered injuries in the incident.
 
The incident is the 40th traffic-related fatality in El Paso this year, compared to 53 at this time in 2023.
