87-Year-Old Carole Escajeda Killed in Surprise Pedestrian Accident

 
SURPRISE, AZ (April 18, 2024) — A woman identified as 87-year-old Carole Escajeda died in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday, April 9.
 
Surprise Police and Fire crews responded just after 1:00 p.m. to a Costco store parking lot near Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue after receiving reports of the crash.
 
When they arrived at the area, they found Escajeda seriously injured in the parking lot. Paramedics tried to save her. However, she succumbed to her injuries and officers pronounced her at the scene.

Surprise police said the driver stayed on the scene. They said he was not under the influence or drove recklessly. They released the driver without any charges.
