86-Year-Old Marcia Claridge Killed, Conrad Ahrens Arrested in Car Accident on La Canada Drive [Tucson, AZ]

Marcia Claridge Identified in Fatal Rear-End Crash in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (July 26, 2023) – The Pima County Sheriff’s Department identified 86-year-old Marcia Claridge who died in a car accident on La Canada Drive on July 4.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Sunset Road around 8:30 PM. Based on a report, 68-year-old Conrad Ahrens rear-ended a first vehicle while heading near Rollercoaster Road.
 
Ahrens continued north on La Canada Drive, where he struck a second vehicle. Officers found Ahrens’ Jeep Wrangler on its side after he tried to run off.
 
As a result, Claridge, a passenger in the second vehicle, suffered grave injuries and died at the hospital.
 
Detectives found, arrested and booked Ahrens into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex for two counts of aggravated assault, wrong way DUI, felony criminal damage and leaving the scene of a serious injury collision.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
