Fatal Henderson Pedestrian Accident on South Eastern Avenue and Coronado Center Drive

 
HENDERSON, NV (July 16, 2024) — An 82-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on South Eastern Avenue on Friday, June 28.
 
Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident in the area of South Eastern Avenue and Coronado Center Drive at about 9:55 p.m.
 
An initial investigation determined that a gray Volkswagen sedan traveled on Eastern Avenue. At the same time, an 82-year-old man walked outside of a marked crosswalk. Then the vehicle struck the man after he entered the travel lane.
 
Emergency responders transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he died from sustained injuries.
 
Police said they do not consider speed and impairment as factors in this accident. The driver of the sedan stayed at the scene.
 
Officials continue to investigate this crash. It is the twelfth accident-related death in Henderson this 2024.
