Fatal Log Truck Accident on Highway 12 in Grays Harbor

 
GRAYS HARBOR, WA (May 8, 2024) — An 80-year-old man died in a log truck accident on Highway 12 in Grays Harbor on Monday, April 29.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash took place on Highway 12 near milepost 29 in the afternoon.
 
WSP said the 80-year-old man traveled westbound on Highway 12. Then he crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on with the log truck.
 
Paramedics airlifted the 80-year-old to Harborview Medical Center for his injuries. Medical officers pronounced him dead.
 
The 51-year-old driver of the log truck also suffered injuries. However, he refused aid at the scene.
 
Both drivers wore seatbelts at the time of the accident.
 
Authorities closed the Highway at milepost 29 for four hours. They urged motorists to use Porter Creek to South Bank to State Street as an alternate route.
 
They fully reopened the roads at 6:26 p.m.
