Isabella Montoya, Ma Villarreal Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 385

 
LAMB COUNTY, TX (December 8, 2022) – Police identified 8-year-old Isabella Montoya of Oklahoma City and 55-year-old Ma De La Luz Villarreal of Hereford as the victims who died in a crash on Highway 385 on November 24.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around eight miles south of Springlake.
 
Based on a report, Villarreal was driving her SUV in the northbound lane of the highway prior to the crash. Subsequently, a Ford F-150 from the southbound lane began to skid and veered into the northbound lane, hitting the SUV.
 
As a result, paramedics pronounced Villarreal dead at the scene. Montoya, who was in the Ford, was transported to Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock. She died later that evening.
 
Four others in the pickup suffered serious injuries. Police identified the victims as 50-year-old Alma Ramos, 46-year-old Gerardo Montoya, and an unnamed 5-year-old girl from Oklahoma City, and 45-year-old Guadalupe Montoya of Odessa.
 
Family and friends created a GoFundMe page to help with the medical and funeral expenses of Isabella Montoya.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
