79-Year-Old Francis Montagne Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on FM 2126 [Brownwood, TX]

Francis Montagne Identified in Fatal Semi-Truck Crash near Brownwood

 
BROWNWOOD, TX (May 23, 2023) – Officers identified 79-year-old Francis Montagne who died in a semi-truck crash on FM 2126 on May 19.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about a mile-and-a-half east of Brownwood around 3:45 AM. Based on a report, Montagne was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion on the south side of the road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 2023 Freightliner truck tractor towing a 2018 Great Dane box style semi-trailer was heading north. Due to unknown reasons, Montagne crossed the center stripe and hit the semi-truck head on.
 
As a result, Montagne suffered severe injuries and died in the incident.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
