Woman Killed in Las Vegas Accident on Losee Road and Washburn Road
LAS VEGAS, NV (December 4, 2024) — An elderly woman died in a two-vehicle accident on Losee Road on Saturday, November 23.
According to North Las Vegas Police Department, the two-vehicle accident occurred at about 1:35 p.m. on Losee Road and Washburn Roads.
North Las Vegas police said a Hyundai traveled southbound on Losee Road. Then it tried to make a left turn onto Washburn Road. At the same time, a silver Mazda moved northbound on Losee Road.
The collision happened when the Hyundai made the turn in front of the Mazda.
When officers arrived at the area, they discovered a 76-year-old woman trapped inside the Mazda. Emergency responders then brought her to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and died.
Both the driver and a 14-year-old passenger of the Hyundai suffered minor injuries. Paramedics brought them to a local hospital.
Officials do not believe speed or impairment contributed as a factor. However, there are charges expected to be brought against the driver of the Hyundai. It includes failure to yield the right of way and vehicular manslaughter.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
