74-Year-Old Joy Kroeger Identified in Fatal Lavaca County Car Crash on Highway 77

 
LAVACA COUNTY, TX (June 19, 2023) – Officials identified 74-year-old Joy Kroger of Bellville who died in a crash on Highway 77 on June 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 12:35 PM. Based on a report, Kroger was driving a 2019 Toyota RAV4 southwest on the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 20-year-old Hallie Herman was driving a 2001 International truck traveling northeast on the road. Due to unknown reasons, the truck turned and struck Kroger’s vehicle.
 
As a result, Kroger suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took her to University Hospital in San Antonio, where she later died.
 
Officers said Herman was in stable condition.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
