73-Year-Old Debby Bazan Killed in Tucson Hit-and-Run on Valencia Road
TUCSON, AZ (July 19, 2024) – The Pima County Sheriff’s Department identified 73-year-old Debby Bazan who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Valencia Road on June 29.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Mark Road at approximately 5:00 AM. Based on a report, Bazan was driving west on Valencia Road before the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, she ran the red light and swerved left to avoid another vehicle that entered the intersection from the north, intending to turn east onto Valencia Road. Subsequently, she crashed into two other vehicles traveling east on Valencia Road.
Another driver, 25-year-old Da’Quan Cain, fled the scene.
As a result, Bazan sustained grave injuries in the incident. Crews transported her to the hospital, where she later died.
Four other people sustained injuries.
PCSD arrested Cain for one felony charge, hit-and-run involving fatality.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. However, no other details are available.
