Stephen Stith Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 23, 2023) – The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified 72-year-old Stephen Wayne Stith as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on Harris Road on March 20.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of Wible Road around 6:16 AM. Based on a report from the Bakersfield Police Department, the man was crossing the street at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling eastbound hit him. Officers found Stith laying in the roadway suffering from major injuries.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. As of now, officers ask anyone with information regarding the crash to call BPD at 661-327-7111.
