7-Year-Old Eliana Gonzalez Struck, Killed by Vehicle in Prunedale

 
PRUNEDALE, CA (April 17, 2023) – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office identified 7-year-old Eliana Gonzalez as the young victim who died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 on April 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at night while the victim was trying to get across the highway.
 
Based on a report, she lived with her father near the freeway and was in the area because she had autism. Her father watched her go to sleep and then fell asleep after. At that point, she got out of the house and was struck by a vehicle.
 
As a result, Gonzalez suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
