Man Killed in Tucson Pedestrian Accident on Country Club Road
TUCSON, AZ (August 22, 2024) — A 65-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Country Club Road on Wednesday, August 7.
According to the Tucson Police Department, the crash occurred on Country Club Road near Michigan Street at about 10:15 p.m.
Tucson Police said that the elderly man using his walker moved northbound in the northbound lanes of Country Club Road. Then a silver Hyundai Santa Fe traveling northbound hit the pedestrian.
Tucson Fire Medics responded shortly after the incident and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The Hyundai driver immediately stopped after the crash. TPD said the 58-year-old female driver was not under the influence.
TPD noted that the roadway in the area was dark. There were no streetlights, and the pedestrians wore dark clothing.
As of writing, there are no reports of issued charges or citations.
Officials continue to investigate the accident.
