6-Year-Old Melodie Rainer, Mother Sarah Rainer Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 67 [Alvarado, TX]

Fatal Crash on Highway 67 in Alvarado, Sarah Rainer and Melodie Rainer Identified

 
ALVARADO, TX (November 21, 2022) – A six-year-old and her mother have been identified as the victims who died in a crash on Highway 67 on November 16.
 
A release from the Keene Elementary School school district identified the student as first-grader Melodie Rainer. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified her mother as 26-year-old Sarah Rainer.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near County Road 810 a few miles west of Alvarado around 2:30 p.m.
 
Based on a report, Alvarado Fire crews and police officers responded to the scene after an 18-wheeler truck struck Rainer’s passenger vehicle. Subsequently, a second 18-wheeler was also involved, but no additional details have been released on the cause of the crash.
 
As a result, the Alvarado Police Department confirmed that Sarah and Melodie Rainer died due to injuries.
 
The family and friends of the victims set up a GoFundMe account to help with their funeral and other expenses.
 
As of now, this crash remains under investigation.
