Mia Preston Killed in Queen Creek Pedestrian Accident
QUEEN CREEK, AZ (March 5, 2024) — A young girl identified as 4-year-old Mia Preston died in a pedestrian accident on Friday, February 23.
According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place in a San Tan Valley neighborhood near Combs Road and Painted Desert Drive at about 5:15 p.m.
Emergency crews responded to the scene. There they found Preston with serious injuries after a vehicle struck her. After that, they transported her to a hospital, where she later died.
PCSO says the driver involved stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. It’s currently unclear if that person will face any charges.
The Pinal County Vehicular Crimes Task Force handles the ongoing investigation of the incident.
