Jaime Betancourt Dead in Houston Motorcycle Accident on North Freeway

 
HOUSTON, TX (March 5, 2024) — A 26-year-old man identified as Jaime Betancourt, of Houston, died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, February 24.
 
According to the Houston Police Department, the happened at 6500 North Freeway at about 12:25 a.m.
 
Houston police said Betancourt rode a black Yamaha YZF motorcycle northbound on the North Freeway. Then he failed to maintain control of his speed and crashed into the back of a white Dodge Challenger.
 
The impact of the collision ejected Betancourt from his motorcycle. A third vehicle, a black Chevrolet Malibu, struck the debris on the roadway.
 
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Betancourt dead.
 
The drivers of the Challenger and the Malibu stayed at the scene. Authorities questioned and later released both of them. There are no reports of other injuries in the crash.
 
Officials continue to investigate the incident. The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer J. Trevino will then provide the latest updates on the investigation.
