SALINAS, CA (August 18, 2022) – A 27-year-old man died following a pedestrian accident on East Laurel Drive on Tuesday, July 19.

Responding officers received a report of the fatal accident around 10:10 p.m. near Bolero Avenue and Natividad Road. Initial investigation revealed that a minivan driving west in the No. 2 lane when it hit the victim who was walking north on East Laurel Drive.

Police also added that another vehicle – a dark colored sedan – hit the victim. The 60-year-old minivan driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.

However, the second driver drove off, police said.

Police found no signs of driving under the influence from the minivan driver.

However, Salinas Police encouraged anyone with information regarding the accident to contact them.
