ELKO COUNTY, NV (December 1, 2022) – Jachai Calvin died following a rollover crash on State Route 225 on Thursday, November 19.

The Nevada State Police troopers responded near mile marker 75 after receiving reports of a fatal crash. A gray GMC pickup was driving along the northbound lane of State Route 225 when it went over the centerline and drove off the left side of the road.

The vehicle drove onto an embankment and rolled over afterwards, police say.

25-year-old Calvin of Owyhee, a passenger of the pickup, was not wearing a seatbelt at that time. He was thrown from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene.

Authorities are looking at impairment as a factor that led to the crash. However, an investigation is ongoing.
