Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Kiernan Avenue in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (February 14, 2023) – A 20-year-old pedestrian was killed after getting hit by two vehicles on Kiernan Avenue on February 7.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:22 p.m. near Carver Road in an area with no street lights.

Based on reports, a 30-year-old Modesto woman was traveling the eastbound lane of Kiernan Avenue in her GMC Acadia that time. She said the pedestrian appeared in front of her vehicle suddenly.

After that, she pulled over and her passenger went out to check on the pedestrian. Soon after, a Toyota Corolla arrived and struck the pedestrian again.

The 17-year-old driver of the Corolla also pulled over to render aid and cooperated throughout the investigation.

Responders rushed the pedestrian to a hospital where he later succumbed to injuries and died. His personal identification was not disclosed.

No other information is known at this time.
