Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Nairn Street

 
HOUSTON, TX (October 4, 2022) – A 2-year-old kid died in a hit-and-run accident in the 8400 block of Nairn Street on October 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Gessner Road around 1:30 AM. Based on a report, a man was driving a truck at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown circumstances, the truck struck the 2-year-old boy.
 
As a result, the boy died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s identity.
 
Police said the driver attempted to flee, but neighbors nearby were able to stop and hold him until officers arrived. According to HPD, the suspect in the case is 22-years-old.
 
As of now, the Houston Police Department is evaluating to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident.
