Ethan Rodriguez Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck on North Center Street

 
ARLINGTON, TX (October 23, 2024) — A 2-year-old boy identified as Ethan Rodriguez died in an accident on Monday, October 7.
 
According to Arlington police, they received reports of the incident at around 8:30 p.m. at apartments in the 800 block of North Center Street.
 
Reports said the toddler got out of his apartment. Then a pickup truck hit him near the entrance to the complex. The child’s family was outside searching for him when neighbors saw his body.
 
They brought the toddler to Arlington Memorial Hospital, where medical officers pronounced him dead at about 9:00 p.m., according to Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. A family member made a GoFundMe page to help with the funeral costs.
 
The driver of the pickup truck told officers that he thought he struck something. After that, he stopped to check what it was. However, he said he was not able to see anything properly in the dark, so he parked his vehicle.
 
Police said the driver cooperated with the investigation. There were also no filed charges in connection to the incident.
