19-Year-Old Jennifer Gonzalez Killed, Rodrigo Santa Cruz Arrested in Crash on Highway 288 [Rosharon, TX]

Jennifer Gonzalez Identified in Fatal DUI Crash in Rosharon

 
ROSHARON, TX (February 28, 2023) – The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office identified 19-year-old Jennifer Gonzalez of Clute as the victim who died in a crash on Highway 288 on February 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1462 shortly before 4:30 PM. Based on a report, Gonzalez was a passenger in a black Chevy pickup truck going southbound on the highway prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the truck slammed into a white GMC pickup truck on the shoulder.
 
As a result, Gonzalez died at the hospital.
 
The driver of the black truck, 21-year-old Rodrigo Santa Cruz, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police arrested Cruz on Intoxication Assault.
 
As of now, officials continue to investigate the crash.
