18-Year-Old Ty Stroud Killed in Boulder County Accident on Niwot Road

 
BOULDER COUNTY, CO (January 17, 2024) – Officials identified 18-year-old Ty Stroud who died in an accident on Niwot Road on January 2.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened just west of East County Line Road around 11:59 PM. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old boy from Lafayette.
 
Their Chevrolet Corvette was traveling westbound on Niwot Road when it hit a concrete barrier on the north side of the road.
 
As a result, Stroud suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The teen driver was wearing his seatbelt and had serious injuries. Emergency crews transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
 
CSP said alcohol and excessive speed were possible factors in the crash but they did not made any arrests.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
