18-Year-Old Roman Solis Identified in Fatal Single-Car Crash in Hockley County

 
HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (August 11, 2023) – Officers identified 18-year-old Roman Solis of Levelland who died in a rollover crash on Sunrise Lane on July 30.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about three miles northeast of Levelland. Based on a report, Solis was driving west on Sunrise Lane at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he drifted into the south ditch. He then overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. Subsequently, the vehicle rolled over.
 
As a result, Solis sustained grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to UMC in Lubbock, where he later died.
 
Crews took his passenger, 19-year-old Andrew Riddle, to Covenant Hospital in Levelland with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
