18-Year-Old Lexy Vasquez Seriously Injured in Lubbock Crash, Uris Lagunes Suspected of DUI
LUBBOCK, TX (November 10, 2022) – Police identified 18-year-old Lexy Vasquez as one of the five people who suffered injuries in a DUI crash in the 5400 block of 19th Street on November 4.
According to the Texas Safety Department, the collision happened near Bangor Avenue at approximately 11:56 PM. Based on a report, 21-year-old Uris Lagunes was driving on 19th at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he veered into traffic and crashed head-on into the vehicle of Vasquez.
As a result, Vasquez was taken to Covenant Medical Center with serious injuries. In addition, Lagunes and one passenger in Vasquez’ vehicle were taken to University Medical Center also with serious injuries. Two other passengers in Vasquez’s vehicle had moderate injuries.
The Lubbock Police Department issued a warrant for a blood sample after Lagunes declined to give one voluntarily. As of now, the crash remains under investigation.
