Four Injured, Stolen Car Driver Brenden Hawkins Arrested after Vista Car Accident
VISTA, CA (April 6, 2023) – Deputies arrested 18-year-old Brenden Hawkins after a stolen car accident on South Santa Fe Avenue on April 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Pala Vista Drive around 12:30 AM. Based on a report, deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department lost sight of a stolen white 2023 Kia Forte that they were pursuing.
A short time later, deputies from the Fallbrook station saw the Kia and started a traffic pursuit. Subsequently, the Kia failed to negotiate a traffic circle. As a result, it struck the concrete traffic circle structure, causing the vehicle to overturn.
As a result, Hawkins, its driver, an adult passenger and two juvenile passengers were hurt and were taken to local hospitals for medical evaluations.
Officers later arrested Hawkins on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading and two counts of felony child endangerment.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
