17-Year-Old Nicole McNeil Identified in Head-On Accident in Caldwell

 
CALDWELL, TX (April 29, 2024) – Officials identified 17-year-old Nicole McNeil of Somerville who died in an accident on Highway 36 on April 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at County Road 122. Based on a report, McNeil was traveling south on the highway before the accident.
 
At the same time, a semi-truck pulling a trailer was traveling northbound on the same highway. Due to unknown reasons, the truck failed to stay in its lane and collided with McNeil head-on.
 
As a result, McNeil suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
A 41-year-old woman from Caldwell, a 10-year-old girl, and a 7-year-old boy sustained injuries and were transported to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan. DPS said crews airlifted a 6-year-old boy to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with possible serious injuries.
 
The driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
