United States National Team Cyclist Magnus White Dies in Boulder Accident

 
BOULDER, CO (August 8, 2023) – Officers identified 17-year-old Magnus White, an American cyclist, who died in a bicycle accident on Highway 119 on July 30.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, White was set to compete at the upcoming Junior Men’s Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 10.
 
Based on a report, he was riding his bicycle south on the shoulder of the highway near North 63rd Street at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a 23-year-old Colorado woman in a Toyota Matrix drove onto the shoulder from the right lane and hit him from behind.
 
The impact then threw White off the bike. The woman then continued to move off the right side of the road and down an embankment.
 
As a result, White sustained grave injuries and died at the hospital.
 
The woman was not hurt in the incident and police did not suspect alcohol, drugs or speeding were involved.
 
A GoFundMe was set-up to help fund White’s funeral and other expenses.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
