16-Year-Old DUI Driver Involved in Injury Crash on 705 Freeway in Tacoma

 
TACOMA, WA (September 3, 2024) – Authorities arrested a 16-year-old driver following a crash on 705 Freeway on August 10.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Schuster Parkway at approximately 1:20 AM. Based on a report, the teen was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry heading south in the northbound lanes of the freeway before the crash.
 
WSP said the suspect struck two motorcyclists who were traveling north.
 
As a result, the 23-year-old and 44-year-old riders sustained injuries in the crash. Emergency crews transported them to the hospital with unknown conditions. Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets.
 
Authorities arrested and booked the teen driver into Remann Hall Pierce County Juvenile Detention Center with two counts of vehicular assault.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
