Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East River Street in Victoria

 
VICTORIA, TX (September 11, 2023) – Officers confirmed that that a 15-year-old died in a pedestrian accident on East River Street on September 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at North Navarro Street around 8:25 PM. Based on a report, the teen was westbound crossing the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to yield to right of way to a northbound vehicle. Subsequently, the 43-year-old male driver struck him.
 
As a result, the teen suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported the victim to an area hospital and to an out-of-town hospital, where he later died.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
